Everyone Needs a Miss Esther

Clay turned 5 on Sunday! We were supposed to have his birthday party at the beach Saturday evening but he came down with a stomach bug the day before & we didn't want to chance sharing the germs so we postponed the party.

Not only did he miss his party, he was also supposed to go home with Miss Esther that evening & spend the night.

Such a bummer for him.

We pulled in right after her at church the next morning & Clay hopped out of the car & ran to see Miss Esther. He must've asked if he could go home with her because later she asked if she could take him home & bring him back to church with her Wednesday night.

He had nothing packed but it really doesn't matter when you go to her house - she loves to take the kids shopping & always has gifts for them!

Miss Esther is one of 8 kids & never had children of her own. She's like the pied piper with them & remembers how special it was as a child when people spent one-on-one time with her.

We haven't spoken to Clay since he left but she has been texting us pictures.

From what we can gather they've spent their time at the beach & pool.

He looks pretty happy to me! It will be good to see him tonight! (He was so excited to go home with Miss Esther he never even came to tell us goodbye on Sunday!)
